Mediation

A proactive, respected neutral guiding parties through employment, labor, business, and contractual disputes to fair, durable resolutions — with the insight of a litigator who has seen how these matters end in court.

Overview

A path to resolution — without the courtroom

Mediation is a confidential, voluntary process in which a neutral third party helps the people in a dispute reach their own resolution — without the cost, delay, and uncertainty of litigation.

As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator, Erika Deutsch Rotbart brings more than three decades of courtroom experience to the table. She has advocated on every side of employment and commercial disputes, and that perspective lets her help parties see their positions clearly, understand the real risks of proceeding, and find durable common ground.

Erika serves as a mediator in private engagements and through court-referred matters — working with individuals, executives, and businesses, as well as the counsel who represent them.

Mediation succeeds when both sides feel heard while at the same time being challenged with the reality of their facts and theories of their case — this in turn leads to a successful and fair resolution.

The Process

How mediation works

1

Confidential intake

A brief, private conversation to understand the dispute, the parties, and what a good outcome looks like for everyone involved.

2

The mediation session

Guided joint and private discussions in a neutral, respectful setting — surfacing interests, testing positions, and narrowing the gap toward agreement.

3

A durable resolution

Terms the parties craft themselves, documented clearly so the agreement resolves the matter and holds up long after the session ends.
